But not for maybe the reasons you think. I'm going to explain, then maybe the people who don't get Glee will understand a little bit better.
But let me say first it's been a while since I've written and I'm sorry. This summer has been busy. But I also haven't wanted to write. I hate english even if it is my first language and I'm not good at it. So when I write I better have something to say.
So Glee.
A show about highschool club where you sing and dance. When I saw the first show of it I was HOOKED. bad. I knew this show wasn't going to let me watch it when I wanted to and just leave me be. One of the main reasons being the singing. Don't Stop Believing gave me chills, I knew this was no Highschool Musical. It was something much bigger then that.
I love musicals so much. But this "musical" show did not just have amazing voices and plots that H.S.M. lacks or better acting. It had Rachel Berry. As I'm watching the pilot I'm feeling way more for Miss Berry then I feel for most characters, probaly because I know that if I had gone to public school (I was homeschooled all 13 years) I would have been her; abeit less talented, but I would have been the unpopular girl who dreams of being a star and no one seems to get her or understand her. She's not a nerd, but she doesn't fit in, she's akward and abnoxious and she needs fashion help.
But she's me.
I really love the acting in this show so much, as well as the random people that guest star. The people they cast are SO brilent. I mean Idina Menzel as Rachel's mom? YES PLEASE. Kristin Chenowith as a high school drop out? hahahah yes! And Josh Groban just randomly in there? I may pee myself....
I want to hug these people and let them know how truely pleased I am.
If the show snagged my soul when I saw it first half of the season, Jesse St. James stole my heart the second half and won't give it back. That boy does not just give Fin a run for his money in regaurds to Rachel, He wins. Hands down. Fin is kind of a wimp who doesn't know what he wants. I mean really? "Practicing" music with Rachel while your gf is preggers? I think not. Plus, I think he's lost a few brain cells from football. The guy has a confused look on his face half the time and doesn't get Rachel.
Jesse on the other hand? He's way more talented the Fin, understands Rachel wanting to be a star, calls Rachel out on her craziness, but loves her for who she is. He just gets her. (And he has better hair while kicking Fin's butt singing.) I mean really, the guy does ballet, helps her find her mom and sings Lional Richie duets that makes me....erm rachel stutter.
He's Rachel's perfect other half.
Yes there are some downsides to the show, but every night time show has them. None of them are perfectly family friendly. And if you know that going in don't be suprised and whine. I wouldn't tell you to let young kids watch it, but as a ex teen? I adore it and hope it's on for a long time to come.
I'm a Gleek, what can I say?
I agree with you Bex :)
