is a really good actor. Not kidding you.
After watching the season premiere of Lie to Me (great show fyi) I'm kinda scared to ever date again. It was sort of a Tom Bundy case. You know the pitch: nice guy you would trust to watch your kids kills women and you never know till it's too late.
I'm pretty good at reading people, however this guy was good. And it really, really scared me. What if I do date some crazy guy and can't tell he is bad news. Because phycopaths aren't good liars. They don't ever really lie so you never know....anyways moving on to the punch line.
Actors, well good ones, watch people. We study them. It's like homework for our characters. So we become good at reading people's body langauge. However I kind of forgot that other actors do that too, that I'm not the only one.
So that hit me when I was in acting class today when Jason Hildebrand goes, "I can tell what all of you are thinking right now based off your body langage." (not word for word but along those lines.)
Not going going to lie, that shook me.
He knew exactly what I was thinking. What I felt about the class, how I felt about other people in the room and how I felt about myself.
It's really not that hard to do once you're used to it. You watch they way they walk, talk, dress, speak and don't say. What they eat, who they are with, where are they and what do they drive.
I do this all the time without thinking, but I hate when someone else knows what I was thinking. I like people not knowing how I feel. But I'm finding that I'm becoming more and more readable; without my permission.
(Note: I really enjoyed his class, it was really great, I'm just commenting on this cause it's stuck on my mind. More on class tomorrow.)
I completely agree... it's kinda freaky. His class was amazing though.
ReplyDeleteOkay.
ReplyDeleteLet me just say that Lie to Me may be in my top 5 favorite TV shows ever!! I LOVE IT! Specifically because as an actor, it's TRUE!! And yes! I saw that episode too, and the whole time, I was like... But, he doesn't look like a liar!!! But, thank you Tim Roth for showing us the light, even if you almost died... :(
